ITINERARY
DAY 1
BALTRA ISLAND / PTO AYORA (STA CRUZ) / ARRIVAL
Upon arrival at Baltra island’s airport, transfer to Baltra’s port to take a ferry to cross over the Itabaca channel to Santa Cruz Island. Take a ride through the highlands of Santa Cruz island, and visit a private farm where you’ll enjoy a delicious local lunch. Take a walk through a beautiful natural environment while observing the giant Galapagos Tortoises and a diversity of bird species. Overnight in Puerto Ayora.

DAY 2
PTO. AYORA (STA. CRUZ) / PTO. VILLAMIL (ISABELA)
Enjoy time at one of the most beautiful beaches of the Galapagos on Tortuga Bay. Walk on the soft coral sand beach while spotting colonies of marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies, marine birds and mangroves, cacti forest and interesting coastal flora. Take a 3-hour journey to Puerto Villamil, situated on Isabela Island. Stay alert along the way to catch the eye of marine turtles, stingrays, several species of sea birds and dolphins. Tour the 4 Hermanos islets before reaching Isabela Island.

DAY 3
PTO. VILLAMIL (ISABELA ISLAND)
On Isabela Island, on board a local boat, sail to “Las Tintoreras” islet, habitat to numerous colonies of marine iguanas, sea lions, and white-tip reef sharks known in Spanish as Tintoreras. A great place to snorkel or take a swim with playful sea lions, penguins and marine green turtles. Return to Puerto Ayora. Enjoy a delicious lunch before returning to the hotel.
Take a local bus to visit the giant tortoises breeding centre, Arnaldo Tupiza, where you’ll spot a few endemic species and learn about the hard work done by the National Park to protect such species. Walk through a wetlands field, habitat to 4 species of mangroves, and numerous species of birds, including flamingoes, lapwings and marine iguanas.

DAY 4
PTO. VILLAMIL (ISABELA) - PTO AYORA (STA CRUZ)
Today, head back to Santa Cruz Island. A 3-hour journey will take us back to Puerto Ayora. Keep an eye open along the way for marine turtles, stingrays, several species of sea birds and dolphins.
Visit the breeding centre of giant tortoises, Fausto Llerena, where the embalmed body of the ancient and worldwide known Lonesome George Tortoise rest. Take a short visit to the Charles Darwin museum. Explore the coastline of Santa Cruz island, the habitat of playful sea lions, blue-footed and Nazca boobies. Visit the paradisiac Germans Bay (Bahía de Los Alemanes). Walk to Canal del Amor (channel of love) and Playa de Los Perros” (dogs’ beach), surrounded by dry forest and a rocky shoreline. At last, take a swim in Las Grietas (The Cracks). We’ll return to our hotel where we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner.

DAY 5
PTO. AYORA (STA. CRUZ) / BALTRA / DEPARTURE
Before heading to Baltra airport, visit the natural formation known as the Craters Los Gemelos (the twins). The craters area has a unique microclimate. And it is surrounded by a Scalesia forest which is the habitat for bromeliads, orchids, moss, lichens and many species of birds (scarlet flycatchers, Darwin finches and short-eared owls). Continue the journey to Itabaca Channel, take a ferry and then a bus transfer to Baltra airport. Your local guide will help you to find the airline’s counter.

HEALTH AND CERTIFICATIONS
Most countries in South America do not require any vaccination certificates from travellers to enter the countries. However, travellers should stay up-to-date on their vaccines including measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, hepatitis A, B, typhoid, rabies and yellow fever vaccine. If your itinerary includes subtropical and tropical regions/areas, it's recommended to vaccinate against Hepatitis B and yellow fever.
SAFETY
Safety in the Galapagos Islands is not a concern at all. However, pickpocketing is a common crime in some large cities. If you do find time to explore on your own, below are some key precautions to take:
TRANSPORTATION
Public transportation in some countries is not well organised. However, in some large cities, public transportation is really organised and available to reach tourist areas. To use public transportation, please ask the hotel staff for detailed information.
Another way to move around is through radio taxis. Some countries have the taxi system regulated such as Brasil, Chile, Argentina where taxis use meters, other countries, taxis have not been regulated (no taximeters) which means you must negotiate the taxi fare first before getting into a taxi. Otherwise, risk paying the foreigner price. From/to the International Airport, you should arrange a taxi with your hotel or a transfer company prior to arrival/departure for a fixed fare.

- Wear your backpack/bag to the front when walking through bigger crowds.

- Leave original documents, credit cards in the hotel safe box, taking the bare minimum of cash with you. It’s always a good idea to hide cash in different parts of your clothes.
- A neck/waist money belt can be very handy to keep cash hidden.
- In restaurant/cafes, do not hang your bag/backpack on the arm of the chairs or leave it sitting on the floor.
- Withdraw cash only during the day and from ATMs located inside banks or guarded ATMs.
- Cover ATMs keyboard with one hand when typing your PIN.
- Do not get into a car by someone’s invitation, even if it's a police car.
