ITINERARY

DAY 1
BARILOCHE / ARRIVAL / CIRCUITO CHICO

Upon arrival in Bariloche, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, enjoy a shared tour through the famous ''Circuito Chico'' traveling over 65 km (40.39 miles) of road around 3 scenic lakes: Nahuel Huarpi Lake, Trébol Lake and Moreno Lake. Stop to enjoy views of the surrounding landscape followed by a visit to the marvelous Llao LLao Hotel, built at the foothills of the Andes Mountain Range. From the base of Cerro Campanario, take a chairlift up to the coffee shop at the top of the hill for 360 degree world-class mountain and lake views. Return to your hotel in the evening.

DAY 2
BARILOCHE / SAN MARTIN DE LOS ANDES / 7 LAKES

Begin the day with a guided drive (360km/223.69 miles) through forests, rivers and lakes to reach San Martin de Los Andes, a city situated along the Andes Mountain Range known for its winter sports. Spend the day touring San Martin de Los Andes, stopping for lunch among the beautiful mountain scenery. Return to the hotel after the city tour.

DAY 3
BARILOCHE / VICTORIA ISLAND / ARRAYANES FOREST

After breakfast, head to Puerto Pañuelo to take a catamaran trip from Nahuel Huarpi Lake to Puerto Anchorena in Victoria Island. Explore the island through a guided walk to learn about its unique history. Get back on the catamaran and sail to Quetrihué Peninsula. Disembark for a walking tour through Los Arrayanes National Park, home to the Arrayanes
shrubs, a very peculiar orange-bark shrub that grows up to 20 meters (65.62 feet), giving the island its distinct, colorful foliage. Return to the catamaran and head back to Bariloche for one final night.

DAY 4
BARILOCHE / FREE DAY

Enjoy the day at your leisure, explore the city of Bariloche well-known for its chocolate factories. Visit the first chocolate store/factory opened in Bariloche, Rapa Nui and taste the different varieties of chocolate.

Today's optional activities:
Cerro Tronador (Full day)
It’s the highest volcano in the National Park Nahuel Huarpi, situated at 3,478 mts/ 11,410 ft above sea level. Drive on the symbolic route 40 along beautiful fresh water lakes while enjoying views of the native Patagonian forest, lake beaches, beautiful mountains and some small waterfalls. Return to Bariloche in the afternoon.
Lunch is not included, your local guide will give you some suggestion on where to eat, you can always bring a lunch box with you.

Cerro Catedral (Half day)
It’s the most important ski centre of South America, located at an altitude of 1,030 mts/3,379ft above sea level. Enjoy a show drive to Cerro Catedral.
In winter, ski and snowboarding activities are available (June-September)
In Summer, take the chairlift up to the summit for fantastic views (October-May)
Lunch is not included, your local guide will give you some suggestion on where to eat, you can always bring a lunch box with you.

El Bolson and Lago (lake) Puelo (Full day)
On board of a shared vehicle, begin the adventure driving South along beautiful lakes, cross over some river before reaching the city of El Bolson. Visit the most popular local craft fair that gathers a great deal of local homemade products, such as a variety of cheese, fresh fruits, regional sweets and local brewed beer. Then continue your drive to the town of Puelo lake, enjoy the turquoise coloured waters of Puelo lake before heading back to Bariloche. If time allows, pay a visit to the small town of El Hoyo, named the National Capital of the finest fruits.

DAY 5
BARILOCHE / DEPARTURE DAY

After 5 wonderful days in this lovely city, it is time to conclude the Classic Bariloche Tour. We hope you'll join us again to explore another part of South America!

VISAS
Please visit the relevant consular website of the countries you'll be visiting for more detailed and up-to-date visa information. If you need a visa, please obtain your visa in advance.

HEALTH AND CERTIFICATIONS
Argentina does not require any vaccination certificates from travelers to enter the country. However, travelers should stay up-to-date on their vaccines, especially when traveling through Misiones (Iguazu Falls), Formosa, Corrientes, El Chaco, Salta and Jujuy. Recommended vaccines include measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, hepatitis A, B, typhoid, rabies and yellow fever vaccine.

SAFETY
Bariloche is a safe city. If you do find time to explore on your own, below are some key precautions to take:

Request a taxi service through the hotel staff.
Wear your backpack/bag to the front when walking through bigger crowds.
Do not carry your wallet in the back pocket of your trousers.
Avoid wearing fancy jewelry.
Leave original documents, credit cards in the hotel safe box, taking the bare minimum of cash with you. It’s always a good idea to hide cash in different parts of your clothes.
A neck/waist money belt can be very handy to keep cash hidden.
In restaurant/cafes, do not hang your bag/backpack on the arm of the chairs or leave it sitting on the floor.
Always take note of the serial numbers of your larger bills (ie: 100, 200, 500 and 1000 Argentinean Pesos) before paying taxi drivers and small shops. There were a few cases where travelers were told their bills were fake. By taking note of the serial numbers before use, you stand a better chance of getting your money back.
At night, always walk on well lit streets.
Withdraw cash only during the day and from ATMs located inside banks or guarded ATMs.
Cover ATMs keyboard with one hand when typing your pin number.
Do not get into a car by someone’s invitation, even if it's a police car.

TRANSPORTATION
The radio-taxi system works well and are represented by white and blue vehicles. We recommend ordering a taxi service through the hotel staff. If you prefer, you can also hail one from the street. All radio taxis (white and blue) work with meters. Avoid paying with large bills. If smaller notes are not available, pay careful attention to the number that stretches across the top right corner of every bill before handing it over to the driver. Some taxi drivers will try and swap your money with a fake note, but if you have know the number of the bill you just gave him, you will have a better chance of getting your money back. Large notes come in, 200, 500 and 1000 peso denominations.
