Argentina's highly-rated Malbec wines originate from the high-altitude wine regions of Lujan de Cuyo and the Uco Valley. Both districts are located in the foothills of the Andes mountains, between 2,800-5,000 feet making Mendoza the largest wine-producing area in Latin America. We invite you to explore Mendoza's beautiful surroundings from the wine regions to Aconcagua National Park, home to the highest summit (Aconcagua Mountain) outside the Himalayas.

TOUR DATES:
In order to join the Aconcagua Experience Excursion, we strongly recommend starting your itinerary on the following days: Monday, Thursday or Saturday.

ITINERARY

DAY 1
MENDOZA / ARRIVAL DAY

Upon arrival in Mendoza, you'll be greeted by your local guide and taken on a private half day city tour to explore and discover the beauty and history of Mendoza through its scenic tree-lined streets. After the tour, take a private transfer to your hotel located in the heart of Malbec wine country.

DAY 2
MENDOZA / WINE TASTING

Today after breakfast, go on an exciting wine tour visiting three wineries that bottle high-end Malbec. Taste premium Malbec wines while learning about the wine-making process. After visiting the third winery, lunch will be served in one of the exclusive winery restaurants. Your transfer will pick you up after lunch to take you back to your hotel.

DAY 3
MENDOZA / ACONCAGUA NATIONAL PARK

Start the day early with a drive along Route No. 7, one of the most important routes in Argentina. Reach the Inca Bridge (Puente del Inca), a natural structure formed when an iron rich river flowed through an avalanche. Make your way towards Aconcagua National Park and begin hiking to a scenic viewpoint where, on a clear day, will give you amazing views of the majestic Aconcagua Summit. A boxed lunch will be served during your time in the park. After your hike, take a transfer back to Mendoza.

DAY 4
MENDOZA / FREE DAY

Today will be a day of leisure for you to relax and enjoy the fabulous city of Mendoza.

Optional Activities:
Cacheuta Hot Springs, spend the day in this circuit of natural hot water pools where the water temperature fluctuates from 30 to 40 degrees celsius.
Sunset & horseback ride, enjoy a two hour peaceful horseback ride through the wonderful natural landscape of Medonza.
Water rafting, enjoy a 1:30hr rafting down the river, an exciting activity suitable for adventurers.
Ravine of the Condors trekking, enjoy a 4 hours trekking through a ravine while enjoy fantastic view of the Andes mountain range.

DAY 5
MENDOZA / DEPARTURE DAY

Today you will depart the beautiful city of Mendoza, concluding your Exclusive Mendoza Tour. Airport transfer is included so please confirm your flight information with us. We hope you'll join us again to explore another part of South America!

VISAS
Please visit the relevant consular website of the countries you'll be visiting for more detailed and up-to-date visa information. If you need a visa, please obtain your visa in advance.

HEALTH AND CERTIFICATIONS
Argentina does not require any vaccination certificates from travellers to enter the country. However, travellers should stay up-to-date on their vaccines, especially when travelling through Misiones (Iguazu Falls), Formosa, Corrientes, El Chaco, Salta and Jujuy. Recommended vaccines include measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, hepatitis A, B, typhoid, rabies and yellow fever vaccine.

SAFETY
Mendoza is a safe city. If you do find time to explore on your own, below are some key precautions to take:

Request a taxi service through the hotel staff. EASY TAXI and UBER are still fighting a long battle with the Argentinean authorities to operate in the country.
Wear your backpack/bag to the front when walking through bigger crowds.
Do not carry your wallet in the back pocket of your trousers.
Avoid wearing fancy jewellery.
Leave original documents, credit cards in the hotel safe box, taking the bare minimum of cash with you. It’s always a good idea to hide cash in different parts of your clothes.
A neck/waist money belt can be very handy to keep cash hidden.
In restaurant/cafes, do not hang your bag/backpack on the arm of the chairs or leave it sitting on the floor.
Always take note of the serial numbers of your larger bills (ie: 100, 200, 500 and 1000 Argentinean Pesos) before paying taxi drivers and small shops. There were a few cases where travellers were told their bills were fake. By taking note of the serial numbers before use, you stand a better chance of getting your money back.
At night, always walk on well-lit streets.
Withdraw cash only during the day and from ATMs located inside banks or guarded ATMs.
Cover ATMs keyboard with one hand when typing your pin number.
Do not get into a car by someone’s invitation, even if it's a police car.

TRANSPORTATION
The radio-taxi system works well and is represented by black and yellow vehicles. We recommend ordering a taxi service through the hotel staff. If you prefer, you can also hail one from the street. All radio taxis (black & yellow) work with meters. Avoid paying with large bills. If smaller notes are not available, pay careful attention to the number that stretches across the top right corner of every bill before handing it over to the driver. Some taxi drivers will try and swap your money with a fake note, but if you have to know the number of the bill you just gave him, you will have a better chance of getting your money back. Large notes come in 200, 500 and 1,000 pesos denominations.
