ITINERARY
DAY 1
LIMA / ARRIVAL / CITY TOUR
Upon arrival, you will be collected at the airport and be transferred to your hotel situated in the neighbourhood of Miraflores.
In the afternoon, venture out on a city tour to see the city of kings, explore the catacombs and enjoy the view of the 1600s colonial balconies embellishing the city centre.

LIMA / AREQUIPA
Take a flight to the white city, Arequipa. And enjoy an exciting city tour through the city's historic sites.

AREQUIPA / COLCA CANYON / SANGALLE
Begin a thrilling adventure to Colca Canyon. Enjoy fantastic views of impressive Misti volcano, Vicuñas, the wild camelids that find their home in De Salina y Aguada Blanca National Reserve.
Upon arrival in Cabanaconde town, hike the 18km trail down to Sangalle Oasis where you will enjoy time at you leisure to relax in the hotel's pool.

DAY 4
SANGALLE / CABANACONDE / AREQUIPA
Hike up the hill to the Cross view point to explore the canyon’s ridge, where it is possible to see Condors, the largest-flying birds gliding over the canyon. Then, aboard a private vehicle make your way back to Arequipa. En route, tour a couple small towns.

AREQUIPA / CUSCO
Catch a flight to Cusco, which has a stopover in Lima.
Upon arrival, you will get transferred to your hotel. Afterwards, embark on an exciting tour to visit the historic sites of Cusco.

CUSCO / RAINBOW MOUNTAIN
An early start to travel to the rainbow mountains, an impressive small colorful mountain range. Drive through little towns before reaching Ocefina town, where the hike to Vinicunca Mt begins, the entrance to the marvellous, colourful and small Rainbow mountain range. Upon reaching the highest point of the rainbow mountain, take some time to enjoy fabulous views before returning to Ocefina town to take a private transfer back to Cusco.

CUSCO / SACRED VALLEY
Enjoy a tour of the spectacular Sacred Valley of the Incas. En route, visit the house of Inca Tupac Yupanqui, the tenth Inca King who propelled the exploration of the Polynesian islands, the archeological site of Moray and the Incas' salt extraction factory (salt pools) in Maras. Tour the archeological sites of Ollantaytambo and Pisac before returning to Cusco.

CUSCO / MOLLEPATA / SORAYPAMPA
Begin the scenic trekking circuit, which is part of the Inca trail network, Salkantay trek. Drive through picturesque little towns to the trailhead in Challacancha (3380m). Start the hiking adventure to Soraypampa (3900m) while enjoying imposing views of the mountainous landscape. Hike to the beautiful Humantay lake (4220m), where you will enjoy fabulous views of the intense turquoise water lake and the imposing snow-capped Humantay Mt.

DAY 9
SORAYPAMPA / SALKANTAY / COLLPAPAMPA
Begin another exciting trekking day towards Collpapampa campsite. Hike through the Abra Salkantay (pass) situated at 4600m, which offers fabulous views of Humantay, Tucarhuay, Pumasillo and the imposing Salkantay Mt (6271m) snow-capped mountains. After the Salkantay pass, hike down to Collpapampa (2900m) to spend the night.

DAY 10
COLLPAPAMPA / PLAYA SAHUAYACO
A 6 hrs hike awaits you to reach Playa Sahuayco. The trail runs through the cloud forest and includes ups and downs. The area is populated by coffee farms and orchid plantations. Upon arrival in Playa Sahuayco, enjoy spare time at your leisure.

DAY 11
PLAYA SAHUAYCO / AGUAS CALIENTES
Hike to Machu Picchu town, Aguas Calientes. The trail runs through the little towns of Lucmabamba, llactapata and the Hidroelectrica (hydroelectric) before reaching Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, enjoy time at your leisure. Aguas Calientes town offers some craft markets and some thermal water pools (Hot-springs).

AGUAS CALIENTES / MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO
Finally, the most exciting day has arrived. Begin hiking the remaining 3.3 km to reach one of the World's man-made wonders, the impressive Machu Picchu complex. Upon arrival, enjoy a tour through the citadel while learning important and historical facts about this outstanding Inca site. After the tour, take a bus back to Aguas Caliente. Then, transfer back to Cusco

- Huayna Picchu Mountain Climb: Climb the Huayna Picchu mountain, which once was the residence for the high priest and local virgins. Due to high demand, it is advisable to place your ticket request as soon as you sign up for the Peru Trekking Adventures trip.

HEALTH AND CERTIFICATIONS
Peru does not require any vaccination certificates from travellers to enter the country. However, travellers should stay up-to-date on their vaccines including measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, hepatitis A, B, typhoid, rabies and yellow fever vaccine. If your itinerary includes the departments/states of Amazonas, Loreto, San Martin, Ucayali, Junin and Madre de Dios, it's recommended to vaccinate against Hepatitis B and yellow fever.
SAFETY
Pickpocketing is common in certain areas/cities. If you do find time to explore on your own, below are some key precautions to take:
TRANSPORTATION
Public transportation in Peru is a bit chaotic but is available to reach all tourist areas such as Miraflores, Lima Centre, Barranco etc.
To use public transportation, please ask the hotel staff for more detailed information. Another way to move around is through radio taxis which is not regulated. Taxis do not use meters which means you must negotiate the taxi fare before getting into a taxi. Otherwise, there is a risk of paying the foreigner price. To get an idea of cost, calculate your transit time, for example, if a taxi ride takes 20 min, the cost of the ride will be roughly 15 to 20 soles.
From Miraflores to Lima Centre, usually takes around 15 min which should cost around 10 to 15 soles. From/to the International Airport to your hotel, you should arrange a taxi with your hotel before arrival/departure for a fixed fare of around USD 20. You can also take a cab on the street but keep in mind, most of these taxis do not have a permit to enter into the airport so you will be dropped off outside the airport.

- Request a taxi service through the hotel staff. You can also call EASY TAXI and UBER, both of which operate in a few cities: Lima, Arequipa, Piura, Chiclayo and Cusco.
- Wear your backpack/bag to the front when walking through bigger crowds.
- Do not carry your wallet in the back pocket of your trousers.
- Avoid wearing fancy jewellery.
- Leave original documents, credit cards in the hotel safe box, taking the bare minimum of cash with you. It’s always a good idea to hide cash in different parts of your clothes.
- A neck/waist money belt can be very handy to keep cash hidden.
- In restaurant/cafes, do not hang your bag/backpack on the arm of the chairs or leave it sitting on the floor.
- Always take note of the serial numbers of your larger bills (ie: 20, 50, 100 and 200 Soles) before paying taxi drivers and small shops. There were a few cases where travellers were told their bills were fake. By taking note of the serial numbers before use, you stand a better chance of getting your money back.
- At night, always walk on well-lit streets.
- Withdraw cash only during the day and from ATMs located inside banks or guarded ATMs.
- Cover ATMs keyboard with one hand when typing your PIN.
- Do not get into a car by someone’s invitation, even if it's a police car.
